The city also offers an endless variety of crafts. Jewellers here still fashion the beautiful enamel-on-gold pendants, studded on the reverse with precious stones or pearls & turquoise that one sees in miniature paintings. Jaipur's lacquer bangles are famous all over the world. Trust me I have hundreds!
Our home for 3 days in Jaipur will be Rajvilas, another spectacular Oberoi hotel built in the shape of a Rajastan Fort. It takes your breath away. Trips to the Amber Fort, the Palace of Winds, and other magical places will be choreogaphed by the scavenge hunts and on day 4 we'll all be stocking up on bangles and bindis, suitcases bulging for our trip back home.
