view of the acropolis in athens greece guide toBy Rania Margari

It’s amazing how many beautiful spots you can find in such a big and crowded city as Athens. Despite it’s 5 million people (or a bit more actually) there are some places you can visit and feel totally relaxed.

While in the Exile stage, a perfect place to go is Lycabetus hill from where you can get one of the most superb view of the city. Now, one may wonder, this sounds like a romantic place where couples would normally go. Well, apart from that, it’s a place from where you can see the whole perspective of a town and maybe compare it to the whole new perspective that you have come to realize there is in your life after a separation. Head up to Lycabettus Hill which reaches almost 1.000 feet and be prepared for an astonishing experience. You would better not try to climb it on your own unless you are in a terrific shape and taking a cab would not be a good idea either as you will have to get off almost in the middle of the way. Instead take the funicular which will you find easily if you follow the “telepherique” signs at the corner of Kleomenous and Ploutarchou Street at Kolonaki square.

The ideal time to get there is early evening when you will be able to get some great photos as well, if you are into photography. On the top of the hill you will find a picturesque white church, Aghios Georgios and the whole city lying before you!! There is also a café-restaurant so you can enjoy your coffee at the same time.

Express yourself through a belly-dance course, find your sexuality again and boost your self-esteem. You are a woman first and foremost and the most important thing to realize after a separation is how attractive you are. You can find some classes in this site…

Explore – the new passion in Greece in general is attending latin classes. If you ‘ve always wanted to take these Tango classes and you never found some time, now you can attend some seminars from Carlos dall’Astra and Mary Karageorgou (Kratiras: Agiou Orous 5, Keramikos: +306937106972).

Exhale in a fantastic spa right in the centre of Athens, in one of the most glamorous areas: Kolonaki. Earth Spa is here to indulge you in every sense and you can be sure while at the spa you will have only positive thoughts. Try out face treatments (40Euros/25’) or various types of massage.
