Follow it up with drink. Wine to be exact. Sitting in the heart of wine country, Christchurch is surrounded by wineries. Access is easy. Take a tour by bus Discovery Travel Day Tours Or rent a car and head out on your own. Just remember to be a sober driver.
Learn to Exhale. If you need some down time, head down to the Antigua Boatsheds at 2 Cambridge Terrace, and go ‘Punting on the Avon’. Sink back into velvet cushions and watch the world go by as an Edwardian attired punter propels you along the river, past trailing willows and leafy banks. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of champagne (glasses are provided) to enjoy as you sit back and relax.

Or spend the day sea kayaking around Banks Peninsula. Or swim with dolphins in Akaroa. Fresh air and exercise are the key to enjoying your exile in Christchurch.
