Guide to Paris - Part 2

view of the eiffel tower and blue sky in paris franceThe Eiffel Tower needs no introduction but the one thing I would say is that the area around the Eiffel Tower has pick pockets who can take a watch from a person wrist without them feeling it, so if you got valuables like jewellery that is dear to your heart you’d do well to keep it in your room or hotel safe, in the long run its better to be aware although its not something that happens all over the city, it is a big problem in this area I found.  The Conciergerie was formally the revolutionary prison where Marie Antoinette and her husband King Louis were imprisoned until their execution, there is an eerie feeling of stepping back in time as you enter the cell to which held Marie Antoinette and from the guide you listen to the extent of the cruelty she was forced to bare, her children were placed in a cell below her where she could hear them cry but could not hold them, the tormenting reality of the French Revolution.  For the inner child there is one attraction not to be missed Disneyland Paris full of fun rides, shows, parades, restaurants and much more.

No trip to Paris is complete without a trip to the Palace at Versailles which was  the previous home of Marie Antoinette and her family, walking around the gardens and the palace can make you feel like a prince or princess, the magnificent décor and architecture leaves you in awe and wonderment that such beauty ever existed and you find yourself wandering through the rooms imaging what it must have been like to live there, even if it was just for a day.
