Tired of the bustle of downtown? Take a deep breath and EXhale at the Kirov Central Culture and Leisure Park on Elagin Island. Opened in 1932, Kirov Park was based on the Elagin Palace Park built for Empress Maria Fyodorovna (1847-1928). Refresh yourself by walking along the paths among groves of white Russian birch, take a boat trip or horseback ride, or view the art collections at the restored Elagin Palace. To find Kirov Park, exit the metro at Krestovsky Ostrov onto Ulitsa Ryukhina, then follow the street over the second Elagin bridge.
